Antarctic Iceberg Candle

The INstructor once wrote:

Antarctica is a place full of the uknown. The climate and winds are unpredictable. The expedition crew cannot be 100% certain of which area we can go ashore and usually only able to know the next day’s itinerary the night before.

Drake passage is one of my favorite places which is also knows as devil’s strait. Before entering, the wind and waves are very strong and the ship rocked violently making it difficult to stand still. everything on the table in my room got scattered all over the place. I had to hold on to the railings when moving around the ship that day and felt very dizzy and sleepy all the time.

The same is true when entering the Lima waterway. besides it being a very narrow, we also didn’t know if we could enter that morning. fortunately due to calm weather, we were lucky and managed to enter. With giant ice blocks floating by, snow covered shoreline and towering snow capped mountains in the background, this kind of scenery was not the most beautiful i have seen, but the most difficult to get to.

I walked out of my room with my eyes closed and cold winds blowing against my face, i took a deep breath. EVerything was a like a dream. the year before, i was working a 9-6 job. I was told to embrace a stable life and would never have guessed that i would pick up my backpack and journeyed to the farther corner of the earth, braving the winds and waves, writing my story while traveling on stormy seas.

What’s Included:

  • Share the experience of the instructor’s travel in antarctica
  • explanation of usage of wax materials, coloring, and correct temperature pouring technique
  • instruction of technique for creating different layers of wax candles
  • Completion of an iceberg shaped candle of about 10cm height
  • All materials included (wax, mold, paint)
